Meet our Team:
Cheryl Barnes
Cheryl Barnes is central in the administration of counseling and care at Resurrection. With a natural loving-kindness, high emotional intelligence, and a high view of God’s Word, Cheryl’s leadership and skillset act as a foundation to our care ministry. Cheryl facilitates not only emotional care at the level of counselor, but also the administration of physical resources to meet the basic needs of Resurrection Church family members.
Pastor Jacob O’Marrah
Pastor Jacob O’Marrah is the male side of our counseling ministry. Alongside his Master of Divinity, Jacob selected an emphasis in counseling ministry. With training in counseling skills and praxis and crisis counseling, Jacob is both equipped for and enjoys the counseling environment. To confront emotional and spiritual challenges, convict by means of God’s truth, and comfort when reminding lowly hearts of God’s grace are the three C’s that define what counseling is to Jake.
Do You need care?
It can often be seen as a stigma to ask for help - especially emotional or spiritual help. It may surprise you to know that everyone isn’t “okay.” You aren’t “the only one feeling this way,” or “the only one who struggles with this.” The enemy, much like a hunting lioness, thrives when he isolates the wounded. You are not alone. You are seen and you are heard. In the care ministry of Resurrection Church, our goal is simple: to remind you of what is true - that you are loved, that you have been saved by Christ, and that you are in need of that same loving Savior every day.
